Monitoring Results
On 27 September 2011, Transparency International – Bulgaria held a press conference and presented data from the civil monitoring of the 2011 election campaign. TI – Bulgaria announced the first results on the willingness of the Presidential candidates to take part in the initiative for increased transparency by signing of Integrity Pact in the financing and conducting the election campaign for President and Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria. Of the invited 21 presidential candidates registered for the upcoming elections, formal written agreement with the terms of the Integrity Pact made the following candidates:
• Meglena Kuneva – Lyubomir Hrisov
• Rosen Plevneliev – Margarita Popova
• Rumen Hristov – Emanuil Yordanov
• Maria Kapon – Nikolay Kisyov
• Atanas Semov – Polya Stancheva
• Krasimir Karakachanov – Daniela Simidchieva – Dimitrova
Transparency International – Bulgaria already proposed an Integrity Pact of the same format to the mayoral and municipal council candidates from 26 municipalities in the country. A coalition of 20 NGOs will monitor the implementation of the Integrity Pacts and assess compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Code throughout Bulgaria.
